How to write headlines for page optimization

The internal optimization of the site includes many points that are taken into account by search engines. One of them is a competent SEO title. Google and Yandex use it to determine the relevance of a page. And this is a key factor that strongly affects promotion results. Therefore, in this publication, we will consider what an SEO title is and how to write it correctly.

H1 page title optimization rules

Any page contains certain information. The H1 heading should convey this essence in one sentence. But with a mandatory entry of the keyword. For example, if a company drills wells, then a proper H1 page title should look something like this:

Moreover, it must be highlighted with the <h1> tag. This is extremely important for search engines. If you highlight the SEO title with a different tag (for example, < h2 > or highlight the < h1 > tag at all with the wrong one (some sentence or even a paragraph), there will be problems with the ranking of the page and, accordingly, with the promotion of the site.

Rules for optimizing page titles H2-H6

Subheadings are highlighted with H2-H6 tags. Search engines also look at them. Therefore, subheadings are used for 2 tasks: visually separating the content and adding secondary key queries. The first thing users need is to be able to scan the entire page with their eyes, understand what it is about, and quickly find the right paragraph. And the second - to search engines, so that they understand what other queries can be used to show this document in the output.

Heading H2 should contain additional data about the product/service. And in addition to the key request, include the words "for people" (if necessary).

And the H3 header reveals the topic of the H3 header. It is usually longer, but it must also contain keywords.

A simple example:

  • H1 – Installation of windows in Kyiv and the region
  • H2 - The main types of windows: which is better to choose?
  • H3 - Wooden windows
  • H3 – Plastic windows (PVC)
  • H3 – Metal-plastic windows
  • H2 – How windows are installed
  • H2 – The cost of installing windows in Kyiv

Finally, let's note the literal truths:

  1. H1 is short and to the point. There should be only one H1 heading. This is an axiom. And it is necessary to write the main sliding request.
  2. H2 - at least twice for humans. Optimizing the H2 header allows you to fantasize and dilute it with additional words. So it will be more attractive. It is advisable to use 2 or more H2 headings on the page.
  3. Follow the H1-H3 hierarchy. The structure of the text should look like this:

Be sure to keep the order of the headings. H1 cannot be followed by H3 - this is a gross error.

Results

Now you know that the impact of website page titles is huge. And you always need to work with them. But optimizing headlines is just one point among many. To successfully promote a web resource, a lot of work must be done: gather semantics, develop a structure, draw up a content plan, and set up internal linking.
